PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lactobacillus johnsonii LBJ 456 is one of the many microorganisms that reside in the human intestine. Like all species of the Lactobacillus genus, it is an anaerobic, Gram-positive bacterium, which has a rod-like shape and does not undergo spore formation. It’s approved by the European Union Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Safety Qualification (QPS). Lactobacillus johnsonii LBJ 456 was isolated from the intestinal tract of cancer-resistant groups in mice with DNA repair defects. It is the result of seven years research by the research and development team of Professor Robert H Schiestl of the University of California, Los Angeles. The strain is patented deposit in USA with the number PTA-124205 and in CCTCC: M20191013. The strain has four patents globally, including one international (No.: WO2014130540), one in Europe(NO.: EP2958575A1), two in USA(No.:US10413577B2 and US10028983B2).

STORAGE STABILITY
Lactobacillus johnsonii LBJ456 powder were sealed in aluminum foil bag, maintained at -18℃ for 24 months for long-term stability test. The microbial enumeration of Lactobacillus johnsonii LBJ456 should be performed no more frequently than at the initial, 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 month time points. According to Fig 3, the potency of Lactobacillus johnsonii LBJ456 powder was 1.53×1011 CFU/g. After a storage period of 24 months, the potency of the powder was 1.14×1011CFU/g. It means that this strain can remain stable for long time if stored at low temperature.

HOST ATTACHMENT CAPABILITIES
L. johnsonii LBJ456 adheres strongly to goblet cell-like monolayer forming line LS 174T(Fig.4) and detectable LBJ 456 can persist in the human gut for 60 days after initial ingestion(Fig 5.)
