PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Bifidobacterium longum susp. infantis is the most important microorganism found in the large intestine of infants and has been validated as an effective adjunct therapy in the treatment of acute diarrhea. Bacteriocidal activity has also been observed against such pathogens as Clostridia, Salmonella, and Shigella. Bifidobacterium longum susp. infantis has been shown to stimulate the production of immunomodulating agents. Acid resistance of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 powder was carried out at either pH=2.0 and pH=3.0 for up to 4 hours. The microbial enumeration of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 should be performed no more frequently than at the initial(as control), 1 hour, 2 hour, and 4 hour time points. The Fig 1 illustrates that Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 can survive at low pH conditions, which means this strain has good acid resistance.

BILE SALT TOLERANCE

Bile salt resistance of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 powder was carried out at either 0.2% and 0.3% bile salt for up to 4 hours. The microbial enumeration of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 should be performed no more frequently than at the initial(as control), 1 hour, 2 hour, and 4 hour time points. The Fig 2 illustrates that Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 can survive at high concentration of bile salt, which means this strain has good bile salt resistance.

STORAGE STABILITY

Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 powder were sealed in aluminum foil bag, maintained at -18℃ for 24 months for long-term stability test. The microbial enumeration of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 should be performed no more frequently than at the initial, 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 month time points. According to Fig 3, the potency of Bifidobacterium infantis HH-BI27 powder was 1.20×10¹¹CFU/g. After a storage period of 24 months, the potency of the powder was 5.6×10¹⁰CFU/g. It means that this strain can remain stable for long time if stored at low temperature.
